Agriturismo Il Gaggiolo

We’d be happy to return. Our apartment was very clean and had everything we needed, and the hosts were attentive and helpful. The homemade cakes at breakfast were especially delicious, so make sure to try them. Agriturismo Il Giaggolo is peaceful and picturesque in the Maremma hinterland, yet nearby towns and sights are only a short drive away.

The pool wasn’t clean enough for us to use, which was disappointing since we picked the place partly for that and the shared facilities. Some of those facilities, including the kitchen, weren’t functional, and having a fridge in the room would have been helpful. Still, the countryside location near Maremma Park is lovely, with a green, well-kept garden, and it’s a good base for exploring the Maremma coast. Our room was clean, furnished, well maintained, and had air conditioning. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, and we also tried dinner. Including it in the price was a good idea, and the typical Tuscan menu was excellent. The staff were really good, especially the woman who was very active in running the agriturismo. I stayed for a week in July with my daughter, in a room with breakfast included.

The setting is wonderfully green and peaceful, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Enzo and Barbara looked after us so well during our August 2023 vacation. Breakfast was excellent, with delicious cakes made by Enzo's mother, and dinner was top-notch too, compliments to the chef. The location makes it easy to reach Maremma National Park, Argentario, medieval villages, and the beaches. Highly recommend it, we’ll be back!

No frills, just the kind of genuine, generous, family-like welcome you hope for at an agriturismo. Enzo and Barbara are lovely. I’ll remember the conversations with Barbara and the breakfasts with cakes from Enzo's mother. The rooms are just right, the pool is great for cooling off after a beach day, and dinner is excellent.
