The grounds are enclosed by a fence and garden, with parking inside and the gates closed, so I felt secure there. The hotel is a little dated, but my room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I felt at ease throughout my stay, helped by the friendly, helpful staff and reception being open 24 hours. There's also an elevator and a large, very nice breakfast buffet. In the room I had a stocked minibar, a safe that used a card, a TV, air conditioning and even a trouser press. Towels, the hairdryer and the amenities were all very good. The bathroom itself is old, and the shower setup could use an update: it only comes from above, mounted out from the wall like in the 1950s.

We came away disappointed. The spa was nice, but we hadn't expected to be charged €15 each after using it. Breakfast was poor and the bar snacks were even worse. Service was good, though the hotel decor feels tired, and the bathroom was cramped with very few toiletries or paper. Just an okay hotel.

The rooms were quiet and spacious, and it was an easy 15-20 minute walk into the center. There's a supermarket nearby, plus a few parks for an evening walk. We stayed two nights in May with our two small dogs. They could stay in the room, but weren't allowed in the restaurant and couldn't be left alone there. There's an outdoor seating area where they were happy to serve us food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and really accommodating about my strict dietary needs, including gluten-free and vegetarian options. I only wished there had been a little kettle in the room for tea.

The staff were great, always friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely four-day stay, and breakfast was a treat every morning.

Nice rooms, a good spa, and a restaurant serving great food. The staff were polite too. I'd recommend this hotel.
