We booked a suite for 3 nights, but check-in was only possible from 5:30 pm. We were told our room was No. 9 on the 2nd floor. When we arrived, we saw the receptionist go in and come back out exchanging keys with another guest. We were then given a different room, No. 3 on the 1st floor, which smelled strongly of cigarettes. The guest we’d seen with the receptionist got our room. The owner Ronaldo and the receptionist told us we had booked a smoking room, which wasn’t true. The service was unpleasant. Booking information suggests this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened at this property. The room still reeked of cigarettes after we aired it out, and marijuana smell came from the next room. After 1, it was impossible to sleep because of the smell, and after 2 because of the noise. The rooms face a well, so every sound carries. The walls are so thin you can hear a neighbor sneeze and say “cheer.” The room was poorly equipped, with no bedside lamp, and the rooms haven’t been renovated for years. We stayed only 1 night after Booking intervened and got some of the cost refunded. Even so, the resort charged more than the usual estimated rate for one night. We strongly advise against staying here.
