Verde Pineta Residence

A tidy, clean place among the pine trees, yet only a short walk from the town center, bars, and restaurants. The staff were friendly and ready to help. Our room was easy to live in, with a separate kitchenette and a huge terrace that even had a sink. The free beach and the beach clubs, including affiliated ones, are around 800 meters away. Aurelia Antica shopping center in Grosseto or Marina di Grosseto are about a 10-minute walk.

The staff at reception were polite, friendly, and helpful, and the pool was clean and open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Our quiet, clean place had a pool and comfortable beds and furniture. The studios have a sleeping area facing the pool, a bathroom, and a kitchen with a stovetop. The free beach and its facilities are 700 meters away. Free and paid parking are available, both indoors and outside. Some small repairs are due, including the outdoor awning, showers, and scale.

The lovely pool was spotless, and being close to the sea with good value for money made the stay worthwhile. The apartments were clean, though the furniture and equipment, especially in the kitchen, need updating. The tuff around the pool doesn’t seem suited to the ground, and tree roots make the parking area almost unusable. Staff were very friendly.

The village and beach were close by, which was a good location. But it’s a lot of money for your annual holiday, and what we found was shocking. I know Italian standards and visit several times a year because my mother is Italian, so we weren’t expecting luxury. We had booked three rooms. One was extremely bad and the others were mediocre. In the worst one, the shower was dirty and moldy, the toilet brush was disgusting, the floor hadn’t been cleaned properly, and someone else’s old razors were in the bathroom. The pillow had yellow and gray stains, and the closets smelled musty. The supposed double room had a 140 cm queen bed, unsuitable for two people. The bathroom doors didn’t lock. We’d booked a terrace but were given a balcony. I chose the apartment for the pool, but swimming required a cap, so we didn’t use it. A rope served as the pool’s fence. Staff were superficially friendly and offered a free cleaning and an extra bed, but wouldn’t reduce the price. I understand some Italian, so I could follow what they were saying.
