Whenever we’re back in Grottammare, we stay at this wonderful B&B. Pia and Stefano always make us feel welcome, and there’s a generous breakfast with homemade desserts. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and the value for money is exceptional.

Polly is an adorable little dog, and her owners are just as sweet. This is the place to stay if you want a real family atmosphere and to feel at home. The rooms are tastefully furnished and spotless, and so is the whole property. There’s a shared kitchen for guests, kept stocked with fruit, yogurt, jams, and all kinds of treats. Breakfast is excellent, with delicious things made by Maria Pia, who also takes allergies into account. The hospitality is so warm, it feels like visiting your aunt and uncle. Thank you for everything, Maria Pia and Stefano.

I seem to be good at typing, which probably means I’m good at reading too, having gone through so many books. That’s where this very particular way of seeing things comes from, mixing feelings, intuition, and a sixth sense to understand things as they are, not just how they look. Every nuance, all of them. So, after some unexpected people appreciated these lines, I’m putting them here. They originally came from GMaps. Then came authoritative confirmation of certain skills. Home. Barefoot. This place has become part of me, "Lu." The last push came today, Sunday, September 21st. The calendar says Summer gives way to Autumn, another season I like for the colors in the sky. Starting today, there are cold-leaning cerulean blues and the reds of fiery sunrises and sunsets. Like fire, "Lu" is on a relentless journey for #JourneyWithLu❤️, looking for photos, people... something to pull the emotional thread that will run through 2026. My Soul, Mind, and Heart are my own, and I won’t give them up even to JourneyWithLu. They stay in the background as inspiration, though. Autumn and foliage? Almost ordinary, I’d say, after two months of wandering and strolling between DS 7 Pallas, Subaru Crosstrek Pure Red (like me), and Subaru Forester River Rock Pearl. Yes, I cleaned my Ray-Ban sunglasses and realized it’s NOT Ice Silver Metallic. The final surprise on summer’s last Sunday? An invitation to lunch. Sunday family lunch. That says two things 🤦‍♂️. First, how kind the people are who chose to open their homes. The second might say something about "Lu." As I stared into space at the usual peninsula that’s been keeping me company for days, with its colors, coffees, sweets, and yogurts, I was thinking about the start of the other theme, "bare feet," when the owner suddenly called out this Sunday invitation. I was too shy and reserved to accept. May the joy of the offer be the unexpected gift these lands, facing the Dawn Sun, wanted to give "Lu." Did I deserve it? I can’t know who I am or how people see "Lu." Bare feet at home? I was too excited to start another theme, about the feeling of walking barefoot in your own home. Like here. Where? The homemade croissants and cakes Maria Pia brought out each morning were a lovely start to the day, and Stefano and Giada made us feel genuinely welcome. We were there in early November with our family and almost two-year-old, and the place worked really well for us. The rooms each have their own character, with thoughtful handmade furniture and details that show how much care has gone into them. The layout is practical too, with a well-equipped shared kitchen and a long table for breakfast and conversation. Outside, there’s a little garden with plants, tables, chairs, and a comfy armchair. Polly the dog was an extra delight. Everything, indoors and out, was spotless, and borrowing the bikes was a nice bonus. We’d happily stay here again.
