I was travelling alone on my motorbike across Italy and spent a night at the Altavie on the 11th of August. They have private hotel rooms as well as hostel-style shared rooms with bunk beds, and I stayed in one of the shared rooms. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Helena at reception, whose Spanish and English are both really good. There's no designated motorbike parking, but they arranged a safe place for mine and took great care of me. I'll definitely come back, hopefully with my family next time.

The hotel has been refurbished in an interesting, sensitive style, using natural materials, and the rooms are well heated, which matters at this height in winter. Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great base for anyone exploring the Maiella. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was so delicious I'd give the hotel five stars for that alone. Service was welcoming and friendly too. It's a truly lovely hotel in a small village, which may be its only drawback.

The staff were lovely, and Helena was especially kind and attentive. We stayed one night and everything went well. The room was clean, and the coffee in the morning was great.
