The food is the reason to come here. We passed by every day and it was always full, so we gave it a try. The dishes really are amazing, but the evening turned into one long wait. Drinks took ages to arrive, nobody checked on us when our glasses were empty, and the extra wine we ordered was forgotten. Clearing the table was done in stages, with dirty plates left on some tables for around 20 minutes after people had gone. A few diners even moved their own plates onto an abandoned table to make room. Desserts were slow too, and then the bill we asked for was forgotten. Other guests looked just as disappointed. There seemed to be enough staff for the few tables, but things were still chaotic. To pay, we had to find the owner, who had to stop what he was doing and come ring us up, looking as if he’d just come from the kitchen. I’ve rarely complained about service, especially in a busy place, but this felt like a mess. The location is lovely, and I’d recommend the food if you’re okay with slow service. Maybe we just caught them on an unlucky day 🙈

The Tuscan hills looked breathtaking from the pool. We also really enjoyed the food, with its tasty local flavors. The staff and owners were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. Our room was cozy and very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. A wonderful stay.

Alessio, Riccardo and the staff made us feel completely at home with their kindness and warmth. Our room was clean and had an incredible view, and the meals were freshly made and delicious. We loved having them on the beautiful terrace, looking out over the Tuscan hills. The whole setting is peaceful, authentic and full of charm. The staff were polite and professional, and the wine we chose was tasty. The kids enjoyed their ice cream, though we were glad we limited them to one scoop each once we realized it was made with sheep’s milk rather than the cow’s milk they’re used to. The view over the Tuscan countryside is spectacular, and the location is hard to beat. Dinner itself didn’t quite match our expectations from the reviews. The dishes seemed prepared with care, but we weren’t especially impressed by the cheese platter, pastas, carpaccio or the three 'Giro' tastings. Everything was too salty for us, and we’d hoped for more local herbs to make the dishes stand out. The €6 side salad was sparse, just three small tomatoes and a few cucumber slices. There was no water with the espresso, and we missed a little after-dinner limoncello from the house. It was hot on the outdoor seating area at night, where some fans or fewer umbrellas might help. The chairs weren’t comfortable for a long meal, and while a few bugs are to be expected outside, eventually there were too many on the table, in our wine and on our clothes. I hope this honest feedback is useful, since we came with higher expectations.
