B&B Vico 10

The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable, and fitted with a modern en-suite bathroom. The stay itself didn’t live up to that standard. It felt more like renting a room above a garage than staying at a B&B. Nobody was there when we arrived, and after calling the owner we waited about 10 minutes in the street for someone to bring the key. At least it wasn’t raining. Breakfast was just a cappuccino and pastry at a nearby café, worth €2.50, which wasn’t what I expected from a B&B. Then, 15 minutes before checkout, the owner texted that she couldn’t come, asked me to leave the key at her father’s nearby shop, and said to pay there. I hadn’t been told at booking that cards weren’t accepted, so I had to find an ATM for cash. When I asked the owner’s mother for a receipt, she refused in a brusque, irritated tone. Her father eventually issued one, but only after I insisted, even though receipts are required by law.
