Residence Rocca Del Palazzaccio

We spent a week at Residence Rocca del Palazzaccio and had a really great experience. The apartments are beautiful, thoughtfully furnished, and have everything you might need for a longer stay in Tuscany. Communication with Mario was quick and easy. The pool arrangements for COVID were especially good: each apartment had its own small area with fixed loungers and umbrellas, where you could leave your things while you went out without disturbing other guests. I’d recommend keeping this system even after the COVID measures are over.

We booked through Air BNB without really knowing what to expect, but Appartement 13 won us over with its room, good price, and included benefits. It was cosy and just right for me and my girlfriend. We moved the table outside for dinner and to make a little more room indoors. Everything was organised well, and the host and staff were warm and helpful. When we needed a broom, they brought one within ten minutes. The pool and grounds were great, and the supermarket and bus stop in Tavarnuzze were only a five-minute walk away. Our stay at the Palazzaccio ended up being the highlight of the vacation. We'd happily come back on our next trip to Tuscany.

Getting to the place by bus could be a bit of a hassle. It meant quite a walk along a road that didn't feel very safe, though you get used to it and it wasn't a major problem. Still, we couldn't have asked for a better stay at Rocca del Pallazzaccio. The room was stunning, the pool had a lovely view, and whenever we needed anything, service came quickly. Francesco, if you see this, you're the best. We'll come back someday.

The only thing to keep in mind is accessibility: the closest shop isn't far, but the steep hill there and back could be difficult if you have mobility issues. Otherwise, we loved our time here. It was just what we needed, with plenty of quiet and a chance to relax.
