The best part for us was how easy it was to relax in the gardens and shared spaces, or find a quiet corner to read and breathe in the fresh air. There’s also a small, lovely pool and a BBQ area. Every room has a terrace with beautiful views, and ours was clean, bright, and spacious. Francesco is an incredible host, always ready to help. The hotel isn’t really 5-star luxury, and some rooms feel a little dated, but the views and the welcoming atmosphere more than made up for that. The one drawback might be the room Wi-Fi, which wasn’t great. It worked well in the public areas. For a calm holiday on a beautiful island, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Ischia Dream Visions.

The property itself looks wonderful and has a breathtaking view, and the owner and Francesco were welcoming and responsive to what we needed. They’d get five stars from me. My complaint is about the Picasso Room specifically. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be rented out. After rain on the day we arrived, the room smelled strongly of damp and mold. There were visible moisture marks on the ceiling and bathroom door, though they were dry then. The air conditioning barely cooled and seemed to act only as a fan. It also showed an error and shut down after 15 minutes. The room became extremely hot, with air that felt unbreathable even at night. Most of the window screens were torn. We couldn’t properly open the windows because there were lots of ants and lizards right outside the door. I don’t generally mind them, but didn’t want them coming into the room at night. The first night there was no hot water because of a boiler problem, which was fixed the next morning. The bathroom was tiny and very damp. We had to clear the sink ourselves because it wouldn’t drain, with soap buildup blocking it. Even with the window open all night, the shower steam lingered until the next day. That window had the only undamaged screen. We asked to move rooms the following day, but everything was booked. The owner promised daily cleaning, and that did happen, but the heat and humidity continued for all four nights. I hope these issues are confined to this room, which is apart from the main property and seems to have been built separately. Avoid the Picasso Room if you can.

We had a wonderful week in June at Ischia Dream Visions, with a lot of the credit going to Francesco. The owners communicated well, and Francesco was very friendly and helpful. He collected us from the port, drove us for our first big supermarket shop, and gave us tips on where to rent scooters. Our room, CLERICI, was apparently the largest. It was right by the pool and shared area, but noise wasn’t a problem. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was large, with a bidet and a small shower. The double bed was fairly hard, while the extra single was softer. We liked having a kitchenette for breakfast and simple tapas, though it had very few cooking utensils, not even a chopping board or spatula. The fridge-freezer was a good size and useful, since a supermarket trip there and back takes about an hour on foot. The tiny one-person coffee percolator was inconvenient for a room that sleeps four; a larger one would help. The pool is small, clean, and good for cooling off rather than swimming laps. There were only a few loungers, but we always found one, and it was quiet even though the hotel was full. The place feels more like an apartment complex than a hotel. It’s a little way uphill from the port, an 11-minute steady walk at around a 10% incline. We got used to it, and the quiet and view were worth it, but I wouldn’t recommend the location to anyone who finds walking difficult. There aren’t bars or shops nearby, though there’s a vending machine with fairly priced cold soda, beer, and snacks. Bring coins. We rented scooters for two days and had fun taking little inland roads through villages. You can also get around the island by bus. The busy roads need care, but we enjoyed having the freedom of the scooters. The view is amazing, and we’d happily recommend the stay.

A calm, laid-back little hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are a good size and get plenty of daylight. There’s a decent pool and lots of terrace space for sunbathing. It’s very near the town center, so the port, bus station, and other areas are easy to reach.

The owner was so friendly. He drove us to and from the harbor, and even picked us up during our stay when he spotted us walking up the hill. Lovely pool, gorgeous views, and a fantastic location. I’d definitely recommend it.
