The garden at Quinta Maria was huge and well maintained, and the apartment was clean and nice. The owner was very kind and helpful during my week there. I'd suggest letting guests know on arrival that they need to sort their rubbish for recycling, and providing the equipment for that if possible. A drying rack on the bathroom terrace would also help. The kitchen could use a few more accessories. For getting around, I'd recommend a car or scooter. The bus stops are about a 5-6 minute walk away, but the walk is uphill. It's about 20 minutes on foot to the center and nearest beach. There's parking at the villa for 2-3 cars.

The main downside, and the reason for the lower rating, was the beds. The mattresses were old, with a box spring instead of slats, and we slept terribly. We were there three nights with another couple of friends. The owner was available for anything and the welcome was warm. There are several rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen, plus a huge living room and generous outdoor areas with armchairs and a swing. There is also a small parking area for 2-3 cars. The rooms were reasonably clean, with sheets, towels, and a fan in each. It's quiet, but you'll need a car to get to the center.

The owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly, and I had a wonderful holiday here. It's also convenient for the main road, where several buses pass. The place was welcoming and clean, with a stunning garden that surrounds almost the whole villa. I really hope to return ☺️
