Hotel Villa Ireos

The garden is immaculate and feels like paradise. From our clean, well-equipped room we had beautiful views across the bay, and the sunrises were amazing. We also got a warm welcome, and the included breakfast was fresh and delicious, better than we expected. One of our favourite places in Italy.

The view from our balcony was the highlight, whether the day was sunny or gloomy. We spent hours enjoying the panorama over Ischia port and the Aragonese Castle, which you can also see from the restaurant terrace. This little three-star hotel is a gem. We had a clean superior room with air conditioning, a fridge, TV, a large double bed, and an en-suite bathroom. The family who run the place made us feel welcome right away. After our difficult trip from Amalfi in rough seas, the friendly Brazilian receptionist brought us drinks without being asked. The owners were always around with a smile, took time to explain which parts of the island to visit, and shared local tips. They were happy to answer our questions. If there’d been a pool, we might have stayed in the lovely surroundings and company the whole time. We’ll definitely come back to explore more of Ischia, knowing we’ll be welcomed like friends. The hotel restaurant deserves its own review, so I’ll write about it separately.

Dinner was excellent, with a nice atmosphere and menu choices for everyone. Breakfast also had a good selection, and the coffee was good. The terrace views were spectacular, and the setting is beautiful. Staff were kind and so helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble.
