Villaggio Marinella

We came back after 22 years and found a beautiful place for a full holiday, with the sea, a pool and a big playground for kids. The mobile homes were clean and looked after, with fantastic sea views. Francesco, the owner, greeted us and gave us all the information we needed straight away, so we could settle in and enjoy the resort right away. The entertainment team gets everyone involved, especially Giorgia at the mini club, and the staff are friendly. Lunch at the self-service restaurant above the beach was plentiful, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent too. The waiters were nice, and we’d sometimes have a quick chat between courses. Highly recommended.

The campsite is far from everything, and much of the surrounding area feels deserted. Crotone and Le Castella are the only places nearby that seem worth a visit. Even so, this is certainly one of the better places in the area, if not the best. Most pitches and cabins have sea views, the children’s playground is excellent, and there’s a pleasant bar overlooking the water. The beach service is just average. Campsite facilities are a real downside: they’re a long way off and up a hill. There’s also not enough supervision to keep quiet hours respected, and the wastewater disposal for campers facing the sea is a particular problem. The approach wasn’t great, though that seems typical of the region.

The sea was wonderful, and while the pool is beautiful too, we often couldn’t use it. The entertainment team was organized well: they included you if you wanted to join in and left you in peace if you didn’t. We stayed on full board during the week of August 15th 2025. The resort itself is lovely, the food was excellent, and the staff were consistently courteous and ready to help with whatever was needed. My one small gripe was the rather old mattress. It had a dip around hip level, but to be fair, I never asked to have it changed. I’ll definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay.

The mobile homes are well equipped and cool, with big terraces facing the sea. Waking up to that view is something else. Villaggio Marinella is in Marinella, Isola di Capo Rizzuto, and the grounds are kept in lovely condition. It feels suited to families, couples and groups of friends alike. There’s a large pool with a bar beside it, plus a shaded pagoda and a handy minimarket. The Chef bakes fresh bread there every day, and does great desserts too. At the restaurant and pizzeria, the wood-fired oven turns out traditional Calabrian food and really good seafood dishes. The seafood carbonara is especially worth a try. For a drink at sunset, there’s a panoramic sea-view terrace at the bar. A small kiosk right on the beach is convenient, whether you prefer the private or public section. The entertainment crew keeps adults and children busy without being pushy. Kids have big play areas, and teenagers have plenty of chances to hang out and have fun together. Everyone, from the owners to the staff, is very kind and available. There’s also a large private car park that feels secure. The village has a lovely atmosphere, with peace and quiet as well as things to do, and the sea is just steps from the accommodation. It’s hard to leave when the holiday’s over. Highly recommended for everyone!
