Appartamenti Mare Blu

The location and the staff were the only real positives. The apartment was extremely bare, with no hand soap, no extra toilet paper for four people staying a week, no microwave, no fan in the middle of summer, and no cleaning supplies. Nearly everything seemed ready to break or was already broken. The bed springs dug into us, the toilet leaked, and the shower was tiny and uncomfortable. Towels and sheets cost extra, and the floor was sandy when we arrived. The Wi-Fi didn't work either. Maybe this is all right for a short stay, but I wouldn't suggest it for a week.

We managed fine, and the town is quiet and very family-friendly. The apartment itself was very basic, and apparently there are several types, with us getting the simplest. The real estate agency staff were friendly and helpful. The location was decent, though there was no sea view. We didn't use the old 90s television all week, and the sofa was falling apart, so we didn't want to sit on it. The kitchen was small and simple but worked for basic cooking, with adequate, if old, utensils. There was no coffee maker, toaster, or microwave. The sink needed major repairs, and the shower stall was tiny. The mattresses and pillows should have been replaced long ago. There was no air conditioning, only a small fan.

I was nervous after reading the reviews before we left, but I don't see what the fuss is about. The apartment was comfortable, really nice, and had all the amenities and utensils we needed. Everyone has different needs, of course, but I'm very happy with it. In this earthly paradise, a comfortable bed and a clean shower are enough for me. I'd recommend it to others, including families with children like ours.

Isola Rossa is small, but has everything for a great holiday: beaches, rocks, restaurants, bars, and even music. The agency manages a number of private apartments, and mine was new and truly beautiful, on a breezy first floor with a sea-view terrace just steps from the beach. Michele and the agency staff were incredibly kind.
