Hotel Bolivar

The location on the main strip is handy, with everything in Lido Di Jesolo within walking distance, and the beach is only two minutes away. The pool is okay, but it’s shaded and unheated, so it can feel cold. I preferred the sea. It’s an old hotel that clearly hasn’t been renovated for a long time. The rooms feel dated, the beds were nothing special, and there was only one usable power outlet, in the bathroom. I had to charge my phone there all week. Air conditioning costs extra on top of the room price, I think €7 a night, and in summer it’s pretty much essential for sleeping. The AV should be included with the room. Most of the staff were brilliant. The receptionists seemed fed up and unfriendly, but the cleaners did a fantastic job, often finishing while we had breakfast. The restaurant staff were also lovely and cheerful in the mornings. We only ate breakfast there, and it was generally very good. The hot chocolate was delicious. Overall, the place is fine, just dated, and the reception staff could be friendlier.

A nice, very clean hotel opposite the beach, with friendly staff and very good food. There are lots of steps up to reception, which could be an issue for anyone with mobility problems.

That chocolate pudding at dinner was really good, and the rooms were clean and pleasant. The hotel is close to the beach, too. But dinner water had tiny dead bugs in it, and there was only one outlet, in the bathroom. Housekeeping tried to open my locked door while I was inside, which scared me. The balcony doors locked automatically when shut, so I got stuck outside without my keys or phone. Not cool. Nearly every TV channel was password-protected, too.

The pool was lovely, and the restaurant food and dining room staff were excellent. The hotel is old, though the staff do a lot to make up for it, and my room was clean despite showing its age. The receptionist was grumpy, and the nice bar never seemed to open. Wi-Fi only worked in the ground-floor common areas, and air conditioning cost extra.
