Hotel Madison

We were delighted with the service, the clean rooms, and the location when we brought a school tour group here in April-May 2024. The staff were especially kind and patient with our requests. It felt like a real Italian experience, with great food and coffee too. We're very happy to recommend the hotel.

The croissants were good, and I was surprised the elevator actually worked. That was about all I liked during our one-night school trip stay. The rooms were dirty, and although they were supposedly disinfected, the smell didn't suggest that. They smelled of cheap liquor, the closets were nearly falling apart, and the beds were harder than the pavement outside. The sheets were barely clean. More than half the residents had bites all over their bodies after sleeping there. I can't confirm the cause, but there seemed to be a high risk of bed bugs. From the look of the sinks, maybe some disease too. Friends found hair in the food. Air conditioning supposedly costs 7 euros. The doors creak a lot, close suspiciously, and don't shut all the way. At night, you can see light from the hallway through the cracks.

The staff were nice, but that didn't make the rest of the stay any better. The rooms were much too small and smelled awful, and the windows were so old they nearly broke. There was hair all over the food. I also had a creepy clown picture next to my bed. We were with a group, and everyone came home with bug bites after sleeping there. Bed bugs seem likely to me because it looked like the sheets weren't washed often, and the rooms were the only place we could have been bitten. I can't believe they give people rooms like these. The shower water only got warm when turned all the way to the cold side. This place doesn't deserve 3 stars. If I could give it zero, I would. If you stay here, be ready to come home with bed bugs. I don't recommend it.

The hotel is close to the beach, the food was very good, and the cleaning ladies were very kind to us. But there were serious problems in the room. Noise insulation was very poor, and the shower went either too cold or far too hot, with no middle setting, so I had to finish in under a minute. The ceiling lamp came apart and fell right in front of the room door by itself. The upper bunk for children wasn't secure either. A child in the room above fell from it with a loud bang and scream. I decided to take the mattress down and put it on the floor so the child could sleep there.
