Hotel San Marco

I emailed Hotel San Marko asking for a quote and information for a large family summer holiday. The only reply was one word, “Only?” That came across as incredibly rude and dismissive, instead of a professional offer or even basic help. If they don’t want to host larger groups or provide basic customer service, they should say so clearly. After such a brief, arrogant exchange, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Unreliable and unprofessional.

A good hotel, close to the sea, restaurants, shops, and a coffee shop.

The rooms are awful, with everything looking 40 years old, including army-style bunk beds. This hotel is a complete disaster and one you should never go to. Save your health and sanity, and spend your money at one of the million other hotels in Lido di Jesolo. Horrible, disgusting, disastrous.

My girlfriend and I were there for two nights, thankfully no longer. The young staff were pleasant and polite, but the adults should find different jobs. The mattresses were crushed and felt like sleeping upside down. The TV didn’t match the description. It was an old set with only three RAI’s channels and distorted pictures. The Mediaset channels kept disconnecting from the decoder every two minutes. In summer the air conditioning is essential, but it didn’t work properly, sometimes just blowing like a fan. They turned it on and off as they pleased, even when we left or were asleep. Our room was boiling when we came back, and at 1:30 am yesterday we woke up sweaty and called reception because we couldn’t breathe in the heat. Crazy. We prepaid €16 per day for breakfast for two, and got jam, rusks, and a plate of cheese. When I asked for ham, the lady rudely said no. She said it was because of COVID-19, but if cheese could be put on a plate, why not ham? There wasn’t even any water. Complain and they don’t care, they just leave. This place is a tourist trap.
