Hotel Solemare

The shower in my third-floor room kept switching between hot and cold, and the water pressure seemed too low. Staff were very friendly, and housekeeping still cleaned the room after 11am. Rooms are air-conditioned, clean, and furnished well enough, though they’re not very big. Some are advertised as having a “side sea view,” but you really have to lean out the window to see the sea. There’s a safe in every room, but no key; maybe you can get one at reception. Free parking is available right at the hotel, but the spaces are very narrow and only suit small cars. There’s another free parking lot about a 7-minute walk away.

The food was a real highlight: dinner came as two courses plus dessert, and each evening we picked the next meal from the list on our table. The Italian-style dishes were very good. We stayed on half board, with a typical buffet breakfast. The terrace restaurant and bar are pleasant, with a direct sea view. It’s a small hotel right on the beach, and the rooms are very tiny, though they do have their own air conditioning. Each room gets an umbrella and two sunbeds at no extra cost. The sand is nice for kids to play on, and the beach is clean. There are a few parking spots behind the hotel, but it’s better to use the second car park in town. Reception gives you a map. If you want an inexpensive, small hotel by the beach with good food, you’ll be satisfied.

We really liked the atmosphere and plan to come back. It’s a small family-run place, with very friendly staff. The beach is right beside the hotel, and the evening-life area is only a short walk away.

The rooms were very clean, and the price felt really good for what you get. The hotel is 50m from the beach. I would’ve given it five stars, except one employee at the morning buffet was very rude.
