2/10
The apartment was filthy, especially the bathroom. Years' worth of hair and soap had blocked the shower drain, and there was a stinky cork. As for the shower curtain, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. The building was very noisy, and you could hear call noises throughout. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. Staying in the village can be a good way to visit the Valley of the Temples and avoid Agrigento's traffic and parking problems, but I wouldn't choose this place. It was very cheap in February, though prices go up a lot in peak season, so the low price won't mean much then.

4/10
The village is cute, simple, and charming, and Porto Empedocle is only a 15-minute drive away, so it could be handy for getting to the beach. Still, it's not somewhere you'd spend much time. The room is spacious and well-appointed, but the shower stall leaves a lot to be desired. The kitchenette wasn't really clean, and the refrigerator was dirty. Hygiene seemed to get only superficial attention.

It's a small town, so this large, welcoming apartment is practically in the center.
