Hotel Villa Del Parco

That cat on the property was adorable, gentle, and very fond of pets and cuddles. We also loved how kind and informative the hosts and staff were. Breakfast was lovely and changed day to day, and renting a scooter through the property was really convenient.

Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and the restaurant had lovely decor. There’s also a supermarket just around the corner. But the waitress yelled at me when I tried to refill my water bottle at breakfast, because the tap water isn’t potable. The hotel is quiet and about an 18-minute walk from town. The nearest proper beach is roughly 1 km or a 13-minute walk away, so a car or scooter is strongly advisable. The hotel scooters were all booked, and I had to go into town to hire one for my stay. The decor is shabby chic and very clean. The kitchenette had cooking supplies, but I couldn’t get the stove to light. Rooms are very close together, so we could hear neighbours talking and smell cigarette smoke. Our room also faced the road, and noise was a problem. There are quite a few additional costs: €100 per person for airport transfer, plus extra charges for the ferry, waiting time, and plane delays. The bus and ferry are much cheaper. Beach towels cost €4, and a ride to the port, which is four minutes away, costs €15. Using the kitchenette requires a €50 security deposit, and you have to clean it before leaving, with no cleaning products provided. Beach umbrellas are also available. Check-in is from 2 pm, as stated during booking, but reception is only open from 8 am to 1 pm. You need to check in online beforehand, ideally early in the morning, and they send instructions for getting your key. Our details were sent to the wrong email address, but they replied when we messaged and sorted it out. For what it is and where it is, it felt expensive overall. The extra charges are understandable, but there were so many that the stay started to feel transactional.

My family and I were happy with our three nights here. We stayed in a comfortable villa room with a fully equipped kitchen, a separate room and bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the sea. It’s very close to the centre. I’d recommend this place 100%.

There are plenty of options for renting a bike, motorbike, or boat. The customer service was amazing too, always smiling and trying to speak with me even though my Italian isn’t very good. Breakfast was wow, with two or three different cakes each day and good coffee to start the day. Thanks for an amazing experience.
