La Siesta

We knew from reviews to expect basic, but it still didn’t feel like good value. The online check-in meant no in-person contact, just WhatsApp, and the listing didn’t match what was provided. There was no breakfast, despite being described as a B&B. Parking was said to be included, but it was unsecured public parking 500 meters away. The coffee machine had no coffee, and although there was tea, there was no hot water. It also said there would be a TV, but there wasn’t one, and the bathroom had no hand soap. It might work as a hostel, but it’s not a very nice B&B.

Apart from the location, everything about this hotel was terrible. We booked through booking.com, then got an email telling us to go to a completely different address. No one was there when we arrived, so we had to wait for a man who showed up at some random time and wasn’t at all apologetic. He gave us lame excuses that this place was better and that we’d been upgraded, which was complete BS. The room was extremely dirty and run down. We were two adults but had only two hand towels and one pack of soap, with no coffee, water, or anything in the empty minibar. The bathroom hangers had been removed, and when we lifted the toilet lid, it was clear the previous guest had used it and left without flushing. There were contact lenses from previous guests on the nightstand. The blinds were broken and missing panels, so they wouldn’t close all the way. Later that evening, we saw other guests sitting around for hours waiting to check in too, so this seems to be common. The check-in guy was cocky and late. This place is very low standard, with a terrible bed service. The location is great, but I’d avoid the hotel if you can.

The soft mattress and pillows made for a great night, and the rooms have lovely views. The bathrooms are modern and have everything you might need. Jaime, the owner, is friendly and speaks fluent English. The place is right across from the port where the ferry drops you off, close to shops, restaurants, and the town center. Highly recommend!

The bathroom was disgusting, with fixtures falling apart and black mold all over the washroom. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned in who knows how long. Don’t stay here, you’ll certainly get sick! The bathrooms are detached from the bedrooms, down a hallway.
