Residenza Mordini

For me, this is the place to stay in La Maddalena. The rooms are great, the staff are the friendliest on the island, and breakfast is included and nice. There’s a hot tub and swimming pool, and you can walk to the restaurants and bars in a few minutes. Five stars from me.

The service really stood out. They were warm and helpful with anything we asked, and the owners are incredibly friendly, giving the place a family feel. The apartment was beautifully done and had everything we needed. There’s a jacuzzi and pool for relaxing, though the beaches are easy to reach too. Breakfast is filling and nutritious if you want to eat in. Residenza Mordini is almost in the heart of La Maddalena. It’s a small, cozy boutique hotel with the feel of Sardinia and lovely Italian design details. I really recommend it for that attention to detail and welcoming atmosphere.

The location beside the city center and the parking were good, and the bathroom is modern. Breakfast was at the low end for the price: a few croissants, toast but no bread, no butter, and muesli that looked old. I expected more.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and there was plenty of it, and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. I also appreciated having a table in the bathroom for my clothes and toiletries, since hotels often don’t give you much space for that. We were there in December, and the staff were great at suggesting places for dinner and things to do on the island. Wonderful hotel and staff, and I’d highly recommend it. As a side note, the "Mordini Compound" provided logistics spaces to the United States Naval Support Activity, and also supported the operation of the National Civil Protection for the G8 from 1979 to 2008.
