Residenze Le Vele & Le Maree

The apartment was spacious and clean, though the furniture was average. I wouldn’t stay again because the booking terms and costs weren’t clear. We booked through Weekendesk, where the price apparently left out almost everything: breakfast, bedsheets and towels. The details of what the residence includes were hidden and hard to find in the booking. There was a €50 - €70 end-of-stay cleaning charge, €7 per day, and €20 per person for bedsheets and towels. We checked in half an hour after the check-in time and were also charged €20. The extra fees on arrival spoiled our stay.

The apartment was bright and spacious enough for five, with air conditioning in every room and a lovely veranda with a table and chairs. There’s also a beautiful recycling center that’s open 24/7. The residence deserves better, because these problems could be fixed. On Easter Sunday, I called reception to ask about the induction hob but got no reply until evening. We were left without lunch while trying to sort things out for the kids with our snacks. The reception sign saying staff had stepped away to accompany a guest stayed up from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, despite the claim of 24/7 assistance. The shower had barely a trickle, and it took us ten minutes to rinse the kids. There wasn’t even half a bottle of cold water when we arrived, which I think is the minimum. I’d booked with two one-year-old twins, but got a top-floor apartment with no elevator and parking far away.

We’re staying in apartment f44 now and are glad we chose it. On the third floor with no elevator, it’s very spacious, bright, clean, tidy, new and comfortable. There’s a beautiful panoramic terrace and air conditioning in the living room and every bedroom.

This was our worst accommodation in Sardinia. The apartments and building are dilapidated, and the place looks a lot like a council house with no charm. There wasn’t enough water pressure for a full shower, so we had to ask for a key to another apartment to wash. The front door scraped the floor and wouldn’t open all the way, the toilet ran constantly, and there was an unpleasant smell in the apartment. Many of the locks were broken.
