The reception young lady even knew when my train was due and started worrying about me. I’d taken a wrong turn after trusting Google maps, though following the hotel’s directions would have meant an easy, lovely 10-minute walk from the station. The old building is amazing, and my room was huge, with a shower that was actually big enough. It looked out over a lively street full of great little bars and restaurants. There’s good shopping, especially for women’s clothes, and the waterfront and boat tours are an easy walk away. I loved my time here and plan to come back for longer.

The room was nice and the location was excellent, between the Marina and the train station. There’s a small balcony over the pedestrian walkway, but it was VERY noisy from sunrise until around 11 pm. It’s more like an apartment building than a hotel, and you need to walk up to it. The bathroom was awkward to use: only a coffee cup for a glass, nowhere to put opened soap, and no bath mat on the second day. The shampoo was poor quality, and there was a little mold in the shower.

The rooms were roomy and comfortable, though fairly basic, with a decent bathroom and a cozy bed. It’s an apartment turned into a hotel on a busy street in La Spezia, and the front desk isn’t staffed around the clock. There can be street noise late into the evening, but the shutters are handy. The station is walkable and there are great restaurants nearby. I liked the place and would recommend it.

The reception young lady was kind and helpful, and the room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless too, with updated fixtures, and the AC worked well. The main station is about a 10-minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and cafes close by. Would recommend!
