Our host was welcoming, and the room was clean and good quality. We had two separate rooms, with two beds in each, and a shared bathroom in the flat. The location was ideal for getting around La Spezia: right by the central market, bus stop, and harbour. Just be aware that the restaurants and pubs opposite play loud music until 1 a.m. on weekends, which could bother some people. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The third person in a room advertised for three had nowhere suitable to sleep. I slept in a hollow and woke up with back pain after a terrible night. That's unacceptable.

That fantastic location is why I'm giving it four stars. We spent so little time in the room, just showering and sleeping, that I'm being generous; three stars would probably be more appropriate. It's right in the city centre, a 15-minute walk from the train station, with buses to popular places like Lerici and Portovenere stopping across the street. The receptionist was very friendly, and card payment was possible. The room was cleaned daily, but there were several downsides: traffic noise from cars and scooters, one missing shower door, and uncomfortable beds. My feet hung over the end, so they definitely weren't the advertised two metres long. There was also a damp, musty smell unless we left the windows open for ventilation.

The room was big, comfortable, and clean, and the service couldn't have been better. It's conveniently close to both the city centre and central station. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to La Spezia.
