The room felt stuffy and didn't seem to have been vacuumed. There was no air conditioning, and even with two fans the humidity was awful. It felt better outside, despite it being summer. The garden was completely dry and uninviting, with no lights at night, and there are wild pigs around. Be careful with the listing photos: they mix pictures from two properties. The other one has a pool and looks better, but you'd have to drive there. It's nearby, though the road is very narrow and winding. Not worth the money.

Marta, the staff member, gave excellent service. She helped us call a taxi each day and shared tips for visiting Cinque Terre. The views from the place are beautiful, but getting around was a real drawback. It's a long way from the La Spezia train station, and taxis cost 20 to 35 euros each way, so we'd spend 50 to 60 euros a day on them. There is no bus, and walking isn't practical because the route is a very long, steep climb with lots of curves. Our room, Vernazza, smelled moldy and had neither a fan nor air conditioning. In July, it reached 39 degrees.
