Hotel zur Krone

At Hotel Krone in Morter, the Sticker family made me feel completely at home. I stayed in a cozy, welcoming room with a spacious balcony and a lovely view. Their tips for local outings and activities were especially useful. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the one dinner I had there won me over with its quality and taste. The excellent regional wines paired perfectly with the meal. I'd gladly book again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

I was in the area for work and, because of budget limits, could only book a single. The bathroom was a little small, but the warmth and attentiveness I got as a non-German-speaking customer were unlike anything I'd experienced before in South Tyrol. Dinner was very tasty, and the internet on the third floor worked wonderfully.

We traveled as a family of three with our one-year-old and felt at home during our lovely week at Hotel Krone in Val Venosta. The location suited us well for nature and hiking: the Val Venosta bike path is just steps away, and the hotel is near a bus stop. The train station takes about 20 minutes to reach on foot, or you can catch a bus every hour. With the Venosta Card, we got around easily to the area's main sights and trails. One location drawback is the nearby bell tower, which chimes every 15 minutes, including very early in the morning. The owners were wonderfully welcoming and attentive, especially with our little one. They had plenty of age-appropriate toys to keep him busy at meals. Our room was simple and cozy, just right for us, although the bathroom was a little dated. Dinner was a treat, with high-quality local dishes and delicious desserts. Breakfast was just as good: excellent plain yogurt, apple puree our baby loved, and spectacular jams and butter. We'd recommend the hotel for a restful break and hope to return soon.

I came away grateful for how kind and helpful the family running the property were. They were courteous and flexible with requests, even at inconvenient times, such as arranging the pre-race breakfast when I asked for it. Breakfast was varied, generous, and filling; dinner was very enjoyable and well prepared. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole property felt peaceful and quiet.
