Hotel Mambo

One of the nice features here is the big terrace by the entrance, with sofas where you can sit and chat or relax. Very few hotels around here have that, and private parking is also rare in Laigueglia. The hotel is charming and sits parallel to the Aurelia, so the traffic on that main road doesn’t reach you. Some rooms look out to sea. The rooms are clean, with terraces and simple, well-furnished interiors. The beach and seafront are close by, too.

The night was disturbed by intrusive noise, and the daytime staff came across as unprofessional and indifferent. Housekeeping was much too noisy from early in the morning. Cleanliness was also a serious problem, especially the bed linen, which looked completely unhygienic. An extremely negative stay.

The room was poorly cleaned, the food was truly very low quality, and the staff were rude and almost unconventional. I need to respond to the accusations that were just made about us. They are false and seriously accusatory. At 8:50 a.m. on day 4, while we were still asleep, a woman entered our room without even ringing the bell. From the many negative reviews, I gather she was the cleaning lady. Her behavior was rude and impolite. When we arrived, we also found hair in the shower, lots of bugs in the room, and sheets that literally smelled used. Later, in the afternoon, we opened the door to staff and they were kind and polite in their response, despite the repeated accusations and disturbance. Nobody slammed the door in anyone’s face. But that evening, the woman who introduced herself as the “owner of the property” started screaming ferociously. I’m on the autism spectrum and had serious trouble following that discussion. It was absolutely unpleasant. We did apologize for the mistake of smoking on the balcony. We were calm, but nobody apologized for all the shouting. Rudeness reigns here. You’re even filing a defamation complaint, though it isn’t defamation to say the breakfast is decidedly subpar and to give my opinion of the food. The staff seem to work only because they have to, and would kick you out at the first chance, even though we had paid for our stay. Report anything you want to the police. I’ll also use the services available to spread the word that people with disabilities are treated poorly at your facility. I strongly advise against staying here because of the staff’s rudeness. A horrible stay. The bedding stank, and this place seems to have no idea what clean means. There was shouting at night, receptionists made it seem like they were doing us a favor by checking us in, and the cleaning staff were slamming doors at 8 a.m.
