Laino Borgo is just a five-minute walk away, and this was a handy base for exploring the mountain villages and parks nearby. The hotel was very reasonably priced, with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a really good breakfast featuring lots of locally sourced and made food. The service was great too.

The breakfast was incredibly fresh, and the service, cleanliness, and location were all 100 out of 100 for us. We booked late in the evening while driving south and got confirmation right away. When we arrived, the room had been heated for us, and the owner helped me carry our luggage upstairs.

It’s only 5-10 minutes off the autostrada, so it works well for an overnight stop. You could also stay a few nights and explore nearby Pollino National Park. Roberto and his parents have made this a regular stop on my Italian travels. I’ve stayed three times now, and they make you feel at home with homemade food, treats, and real kindness, while still keeping the service professional.

The river beside the hotel made for calming sounds throughout the evening. Roberto was kind and so helpful, with plenty of useful information. We had a lovely stay at Palia’s, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with lots of local foods included. I highly recommend staying here.
