Getting there at night might be tricky, but the drive is worth it. This family-run hotel sits high on the mountain, with a sweeping view of mountains and clouds and a very peaceful feel. The host was lovely and welcoming, the rooms were clean, and dinner from their kitchen was delicious, the best dish we had on this vacation. I'd definitely recommend it again.

We parked in Laion and walked the pleasant, rolling 6 km route to the restaurant. Some stretches climb as steeply as 10%, so we had a good appetite by the time we arrived and burned off the extra calories heading back. Dogs are welcome indoors, which we appreciated. We were lucky to catch this month's "harvest thanksgiving" menu, with its focus on apples and grains. Everything sounded so tempting that I wished we had room to try more. The hotel looks lovely too, with an infinity pool overlooking the apple orchard and very modern fixtures. We might stay there next time and spend longer in this little heaven.

We ate in the main restaurant, where Heinz and Thomas gave us service I haven't experienced in a very long time. The views were like a postcard, the food felt genuine, and everything from start to finish was simply amazing. Highly recommended, and thanks again! :)

The family running this place are really nice as well as professional. We loved the stunning setting and the amazing view.

Tucked away with no busy road or other hotels nearby, this is a great base for hiking. The food was great too. My one small complaint is that the bed could be more comfortable, though it did help me get up early for the hikes.
