Beautiful setting and great hosts. I loved staying here! ❤ Would recommend.

I only had one night here, and it was fabulous. I really should have stayed longer, and I’ll definitely be back. Six stars! The breakfast buffet was the highlight, served in a stunning panoramic room with a glass front looking out over the valley. There was homemade bread, spreads, jams and baked goods, plus top-quality eggs, meats and cheeses. The coffee machine and juice press were great too. The room was terrific, with a balcony view of Merano. I loved the pink sofa, the stylish wood design, and the amenities like the safe and fridge. The bathroom had been remodeled and looked lovely, with soft towels, crisp white bedding, and a wellness basket with a robe and slippers. It’s a secret hideaway among apple orchards, with hiking trails and great roads for motorcycle rides. The self-catering bar, reading area, outdoor seating, roof terraces, indoor pool, and infrared cabin all added to the appeal of this well-run family hotel.

The rooftop terraces were a favorite, a lovely place to relax and look out over the area. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, with lots of variety, plenty of homemade things, and creative presentation. The Katzthalerhof is also well placed for exploring around Merano and Bolzano. The hosts were warm and gave us great tips, always there when we needed something. Everything felt truly professional, from the quality to the amenities. A special place, and we’ll be back.

We first stayed at Katzentahler Hof in May 2019, but because of Corona and the flood in our Ahrtal, we couldn’t return to Lana until May 2024. The new hosts greeted us warmly as soon as we arrived. Our spacious room had a fantastic valley view, and the breakfast, swimming pool, and whole property were simply wonderful. I’ve never seen a hotel where the whole atmosphere is so perfectly put together with such care for detail (PULCHRITUDO IN CLARITATE - SCHÖNHEIT DURCH KLARHEIT). You can’t give more than five stars, or we would have given more. We’d be very happy to come back. Greetings from the Schneiders.
