Albergo Roma

We were glad we found this place, and we’ll definitely return. The family who run it have cared for the hotel for generations, and their affection for it really shows. They went out of their way to help us, answer questions, and store our bike boxes while we were on our self-guided cycling tour. We stayed two nights, starting and ending our tour of Tuscany here. It was easily the best place we stayed in the region, and one of our best stays anywhere in a long time. The hotel has loads of history, lovely gardens, a pool, and welcoming indoor communal spaces. It’s relaxing to spend time there, and also a handy base for nearby villages, towns, and the surrounding area. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh bread and other local produce. The hotel and the family running it are special, and we’d highly recommend it for a relaxing stay and exploring Tuscany.

We got a good price, and the hotel was extremely clean. It’s a charming building, and the beautiful pool was a bonus. The couple who run this family hotel were wonderful and welcoming, and made our stay feel unique.

We spent four nights here for the annual Bocelli concert, and the hosts made us feel right at home. They worked hard, and were kind and charming throughout. The setting is very quiet, but shops and restaurants are only a 2 to 3 minute walk away, and there’s free parking on site. Breakfast was included and had plenty of variety: local hams and cheeses, boiled eggs, fresh breads and croissants, cakes, tarts, fruit, juice, yogurt, plus cappuccino and espresso served by attentive staff. During the heat wave, we were glad the bedroom had good air conditioning and the mini-fridge was stocked with still and sparkling water. The bathroom had hot water straight away, a strong shower, and plenty of good towels, shampoo, and soap. The pool sits in a lush garden with loungers, tables, chairs, and sun umbrellas. WiFi reached the pool too, so I could get in the occasional hour of work with a cappuccino or cold drink. The hospitality and value were hard to believe. A real hidden gem.

We had our honeymoon here, and the owner was so sweet, welcoming, and friendly that the stay became unforgettable. The hotel is cozy, very clean, and kept to a high standard. The large pool and garden were lovely places to relax. Breakfast had everything we wanted, including fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, eggs, brown bread, several hams and cheeses, freshly made cappuccino, and lactose-free milk. We’d recommend it.
