We enjoyed our two nights at I Dolci Grappoli and would happily return. The rooms were clean, though a little dated, and the countryside views were lovely. It’s close to Larino. Every morning, breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared and presented in the dining room. We also had the privilege of a winery tour led by the owner and his delightful daughter. They told us about the family history, how the wine is made, and tasting techniques. Afterwards, we shared a delicious meal of local foods paired with the wines.

The food and wine were so good that we bought six bottles to take home. It was a memorable three-hour lunch, and we’d definitely come back. We’d been in Termoli looking for somewhere special for lunch. The girls had asked at the tourist information centre about nearby winery visits, picked up a brochure, and my wife pointed to one place. A quick Google search showed it was open. She called ahead, and they confirmed we were welcome for lunch. Twenty-four minutes later, we arrived to find the place quiet and empty. Then a lady came out and welcomed us into the dining room. It’s an Agriturismo that makes food on site from local produce, and they also make their own wine and have accommodation. We were looking at the menu when our host offered to bring us a selection of everything. Sold. We just had to choose our mains. The fresh bread came straight from the oven and was so good, we knew we’d found something special. Then came five courses of antipasti, not one, two, or three. I forgot to photograph the riso. With all that and the bread, who needed anything else? But the mains arrived too, and they didn’t disappoint. The winery’s wine was great as well. Our host was fantastic, and we had lots of laughs with her. Somehow, the four of us understood most of what she said, and she understood us too. Three hours later, we headed back to Termoli with new memories and another story to tell.

Enrica and Angelo are happy to talk about the traditions behind their wines and local products, and the staff are polite, helpful, and always ready to answer questions about the dishes and wine. At Relais I Dolci Grappoli, you can really see the strength of Molise’s local supply chains. Enrica and Angelo have added typical products from other local producers to what they offer. The food and wine reflect the owners’ and team’s care for quality and their ongoing effort to improve. The attention to detail, from the table to the dining room, shows how committed Enrica and Angelo are to their values and to giving customers the highest quality. I recommend visiting and letting them guide you through the beauty of Molise’s food and wine.
