Il Fogliano Hotel

A big disappointment. The location is very convenient, right across from the sea, and there’s plenty of equipment to enjoy the beach. But the hotel doesn’t live up to its four-star rating. The room and bathroom felt old and were poorly furnished. At the restaurant, the temporary staff didn’t seem properly trained, and the service didn’t match the price.

We were in Latina for a meeting and finished at 1pm, so we asked a local friend where to have lunch. I hadn’t thought of Latina as a coastal city, but it’s very close to the sea, and he suggested this amazing hotel. We had no reservation, yet they welcomed us like old friends and offered us a terrace table. It was sunny and warm, so we took it. Service was first class, quick and cheerful. The pasta with clams and other fish dishes were excellent, as was the wine. My son said his fish salad was excellent too. After two coffees, the bill came to a very reasonable 40 Euro per person. Just as we left, the heavens opened, so we were lucky with the timing!

The music played loudly until 4.00, with the bass blasting through the windows. It was so loud I could feel it in my body. If you want a good night's sleep, please don't go. You'll be disappointed and tired.

The hotel is dog-friendly, and its restaurant has good options, including vegetarian dishes. The rooms are comfortable, the whole place is very clean, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. It sits by the sea in a lovely natural area. The big downside was loud music for events at the hotel over the weekend. I’m not sure whether these were private parties or whether it happens every weekend, and it may not affect every room, but it was annoying.
