It’s near Lake Garda and the old city of lasize, with plenty to do around there. You can climb monte baldo, visit the theme parks, cycle around the lake, go to limione on the upper left side of the lake, see other nearby lakes, visit the shopping centre or walk in the mountains. We stayed on the camping side, where you get a plot for a tent, caravan or similar, rather than in one of the houses. Service at both restaurants, one uphill and one below, was always good. Staff weren’t rude or aggressive, and reception was great too, with friendly people happy to answer questions.

The rooms were quite nice and the area was okay in general, but the welcome staff were very rude. It felt like they weren’t pleased to have guests.

The reception staff seemed pretty stressed, and we found the campsite a little too large and busy. Still, we were glad we stayed. It’s a great choice if you want lots of activity and family-friendly things to do. Our children, aged 1 and 4, loved the slides at the spacious, clean pool area, which was a highlight. The animation team was friendly, enthusiastic and had a varied program for kids of different ages. Another lovely surprise was the fully shaded playground, which made a big difference on hot days. Camping Spiaggia d’Oro is a large site with excellent facilities, especially for families with little kids.

The bungalows turned out much smaller than they looked on the website, and the pools were very cold. Closing them at 7 PM was too early for us. The location itself is nice, right by the lake and close to Lazise, and the staff were very friendly.

The lake is clean and beautiful, and lovely for an early morning or evening walk. The beach is sandy too. There are friendly bathrooms, entertainment and pool facilities, so I’d especially recommend this camping for families with little kids.
