Hotel Palazzo della Scala Spa Hotel Suites & Apartments

The fabulous breakfast, service, comfort, and location are why we'll keep coming back. It's a lovely boutique style hotel with great decor, and I can hardly think of anything negative to say.

Our stay was one of the biggest disappointments I've had in a long time. The hotel failed to meet even basic expectations for a pleasant vacation. The rooms were shockingly poor, impersonal, and uninviting, with nothing that made them feel like Italy or a holiday. At the beach, the sun umbrellas were unstable and kept toppling from their stands. Meals added to the tedium: dinner was exactly the same every evening, and breakfast was monotonous with almost no day-to-day variety. It felt like budget motel fare, not what you'd expect from a hotel aiming higher. Staff were consistently unfriendly and completely unhelpful. I also have serious doubts about whether the four- and five-star reviews are genuine. My experience certainly gave me that impression.

The staff were amazing, and the hotel was stylishly decorated with great facilities. It's close to downtown Lazise, and the underground parking was a real plus, keeping the cars cool in the summer heat. We had a great room for the family, and our kid loved all the different pools. Breakfast had a great range of items, along with à la carte options.

The food in the restaurant was great, and we really enjoyed eating there. The hotel also has a lovely spa area, which makes it a beautiful place for couples. The staff did everything they could to make our stay special. Bravo, it was well worth the trip!
