The room was supposedly "cleaned," but there was a basket full of rubbish inside, used soap and shampoo in the bathroom, and no bottle opener for the drinks the B&B had "kindly" left. There was nobody to ask, since the manager disappeared right after taking the required advance payment. We were also missing a towel, which the owner/manager eventually provided. Be careful coming in from the street: the doorway is only 120/140 cm high and there's a step, so it's not easy to get in. If you've paid for breakfast or expect it, be aware that you only get a croissant and a coffee, or choose a room without breakfast. The owners said this was "colazione all'italiana," worth 4 euros for 2 people, though it was charged at 10 euros or more and described as a gift. You have to eat it at a bar across the street, with no umbrella provided. Watch out for mosquitoes at night. No repellent or machine was provided. The room itself is nice and well located, but the building and elevator are poorly maintained, and the service was as described above.

The room was dirty, dusty, smelly, and neglected, and there was no welcome to speak of. The minibar was empty and switched off, breakfast was missing, and used towels had been left unattended on the balcony. The air conditioning didn't work, so we had to sleep with the windows wide open and listen to all the city traffic. And then there was the supposed "Gem of the Room," the jacuzzi. I'd asked at check-in to make sure the water would be hot, and was assured it would be. It was completely cold, not even lukewarm, so we couldn't use it. When we finally told the owner, there wasn't even a reply. Not recommended if you don't want your stay ruined.

The location was okay, but that was the only good part. We felt like we were being made a joke of. They insisted we had to pay tourist tax for our children aged 3 and 5, even though we later found out children up to 12 aren't charged. The room was dirty, there was no breakfast, and the minibar was empty. There were four of us but shower gel for only two. The Wi-Fi was poor, the bathroom handle was broken, and the mirror fell on my son's head because it wasn't fixed to the wall. The air conditioning had apparently been broken for a while; they'd put in a portable unit, but we had to keep the window open and fight bees and mosquitoes. Terrible. Avoid it if you don't want your vacation ruined.

The manager made a late check-in easy by opening the door remotely through the home automation system and leaving our keys at reception. My boyfriend and I stayed one night in the Art Nouveau double room, which had a mini-fridge and air conditioning. It's a comfortable, convenient spot in central Lecce, with fair, average prices. They accept the Holiday Bonus. If we're passing through Lecce again, we'll come back!

We stayed here last week. It's right in the center, but the place was completely unclean. We spent two days unable to shower because it was full of hair, and the headboard was covered in dust. The WiFi password was wrong, so we had no internet. The wine glass on the bedside table was appallingly dirty, the building's front door wouldn't open, and the windows let in drafts. Basically, it's a stay we'd rather forget. My personal advice: spend less time talking about business and more time working, because words don't get you anywhere, but rolling up your sleeves does.
