There’s a small, lush garden that plant lovers would enjoy, and the house is just a few blocks from the city centre. The rooms were spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and had all the comforts we needed. The owner was very kind and made it possible for us to cook our own meals, which matters to us. We didn’t feel the heat much inside, so we didn’t need the air conditioning.

The central location and lovely inner courtyard were the positives, but we didn’t feel comfortable here, and problems spoiled part of our week-long holiday. The owner would come into our room without warning or vacuum the hallway outside early in the morning. Several policies came as a surprise and seemed questionable. Although our booking showed a room with air conditioning, the owner said it would cost an extra €6 per day, which wasn’t stated on Booking.com. We reluctantly agreed, but the air conditioning was still turned off. The late check-in fee hadn’t been mentioned either, even though I’d provided my flight details and estimated landing time. On checkout day, a WhatsApp message said checkout was at 10:00 AM, while the room information said 11:00 AM. We were given only one set of keys for two people. Paying in advance without a POS terminal, and trying to get an invoice, was a real ordeal. We eventually got a paper receipt, but I still don’t know whether the electronic invoice will arrive. Despite the property’s potential, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We had a wonderful three-night stay, just steps from Lecce centre. The room and bathroom were clean, with meticulous decor. Giusy was incredibly kind and sweet, and always available. We hope to come back soon!

I had a lovely stay in the room with the outdoor garden, though sadly I was there for work. The beautiful B&B is just a stone’s throw from the historic centre, and it’s run by someone who was genuinely helpful.
