Historical Suites VVM

We spent two nights in the presidential suite of this historic building, and it was amazing. Nikos is the best host you could imagine. The place is right next to Plaza Duomo, and all the highlights are within a 5 min walk.

We didn’t hear any street noise from our room, thanks to the double glazed windows. VVM Historical Suites is right in the city centre, with easy access to Lecce’s main attractions and lots of nice bars and restaurants, so it made a perfect base for exploring. The historic furnishings are beautifully preserved, and Nikos’s warm hospitality made the experience outstanding. Nikos went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. His local knowledge and personalized suggestions for dining, sightseeing, and hidden gems were invaluable. He was always available if we had a question or request. A true gem in Lecce.

Nikos was very helpful with suggestions about where to go and how to get there. The apartment is an easy, direct 12min walk from the train station, in the Old Town. He welcomed us warmly and had loads of useful information. The original house has been made into two apartments, both lovingly furnished with antiques that suit its history, right down to the bed frame. The bathroom is modern, the shower and water pressure are very good, and the super king bed was comfortable. Each morning, Nikos brought a delicious traditional breakfast to the formal lounge area at the time we chose, so the pastries would be warm. There was far too much for us to finish. A kettle and coffee machine were provided, along with air-conditioning in the bedroom and lounge area and free Netflix. Lecce’s old town gets very busy every night into the early hours, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep without hearing a thing. I highly recommend it if you want to stay in a gracious old building.

The host was so hospitable and helped us with recommendations and bus routes. Breakfast arrived every morning on a bar cart, and we could personalize it by telling the host what we wanted brought. The service was the best, and I couldn’t rave about this place enough. The rooms are gorgeous and palatial, furnished with things actually from the original house back in the old days. I love the old charm throughout. They’re massive, with two balconies overlooking the old town, and also have modern furnishings like AC and an electric kettle. I’d come back again and again if I found myself in Lecce once more!
