The location made it easy to get to everything, but the basic facilities were a serious problem. The internet was advertised, and there was a router in the hallway, yet there was no connection. I contacted management for help and never got a reply. The water pressure was so weak that the shower was barely more than a trickle, and the towels smelled odd and looked well past their best. Check-in was a bit of a saga too: the doorbell doesn't work, and the hosts only answer if you phone them. Be prepared to wait, since they aren't at the property around the clock. There was a bed, but that's about all that made this a bed and breakfast. I'd give the hotel one star, no more, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We enjoyed talking with Alessandro and Antonio, who were generous with useful tips and always offered us coffee and drinks when we arrived. The property is right opposite the beautiful Basilica of Santa Croce, and our rooms were stunning, with vaulted Lecce stone ceilings. We had such a good time in Lecce that we wrapped up our Salento tour a day early to come back and stay at Dimora dei Celestini. It's absolutely worth it, with great value for money. Fabulous!

Our quadruple room was at the back, with its entrance on a small street behind the basilica. It was spacious and comfortable, with clean sheets and enough clean towels for everyone. There was a hairdryer with a diffuser, a fridge that worked well, and air conditioning. We also had a large veranda with a table and two chairs for eating outside. A few details could use attention: the outside door has no handle, the TV remote is broken, and the shower tray wasn't very clean around the edges. There was also no shower gel or shampoo for one of us, even though there were two guests.
