We were glad we ended up at LuLecchio and would stay there again on our next trip to Puglia. Our apartment was comfortable and beautifully decorated, and Roberto had renovated the whole building with obvious care and attention to detail. The palazzo is elegantly restored beside Porta Napoli, with easy access. The welcome from the owner and staff was warm, and they made us feel at home. Breakfast began with delicious coffee and included freshly baked torta di mela, fresh fruit, and eggs cooked to order from the owner's farm. The children loved the pancakes and fresh orange juice. Roberto also gave us useful suggestions. We visited a few lovely towns that weren’t in our original plans, explored scenic drives and nature walks near Lecce, and tried his restaurant recommendations. His tip about a local antiques market led us to a small, beautiful 7th-century sculpture that we bought as a Salento keepsake.

We booked a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment for four people at Lu Leccio, but arrived to find the elevator broken and had to carry our bags to the second floor. The AC in our room didn’t work. In 92°F heat, the owner brushed us off and told us to open the windows. We were moved to a much smaller studio with one bed and one bathroom, at the same price. The next day we were moved again to a two-bedroom unit, but neither bathroom had hot water. When we complained, the owner said cold showers were fine, even though we had two young children. We eventually had to leave in the middle of our vacation and find another hotel during the holiday season. We felt uncomfortable, poorly treated, and inconvenienced, and didn’t get the accommodation or basic amenities we had booked and paid for. Ten days later, we were still trying to get a refund from both the hotel and Booking.com, even for the two nights we stayed in those conditions. It felt like paying for a pizza and getting half a frozen pie with no sauce or cheese. I strongly caution people considering this property. It failed to provide the promised room and customer care. I have no idea why it shows a 4.9.

We loved staying in this beautiful apartment in the heart of Lecce, especially the amazing view. Martina and Carmen were fabulous hosts and made everything comfortable and enjoyable. We’d come back in a heartbeat and highly recommend a stay here. ❤️🙏

The breakfast was lovely, and Martina and Carmen were so kind that our three-night visit felt like home. This is an intimate, beautifully designed hotel right in the heart of Lecce. We had a comfortable bed, a luxurious rainfall shower, and a nice patio shared with one other room. We can’t wait to return.

We loved the plants as soon as we walked in, and everything felt fresh, clean, and good quality. The accommodations were great, and it was easy to walk everywhere from this hidden gem near Porta Napoli in Lecce. Martina was incredibly helpful and friendly, and Carmen made a wonderful breakfast each morning and was so pleasant to chat with. Hope we can return someday!
