Nidi di Feo

Our room was clean and a good size, and our son slept well. Those were about the only bright spots in a very bad recent stay at Nidi di Feo B&B. My wife slept terribly after what happened, and I was also shocked by how the cleaning lady was treated. We noticed the next day that non-Italians were treated differently too, which upset the French guests. There were little acts of anger and teasing after that, but we didn't respond. Before we even arrived, they sent two messages and four SMS, asking in a quite impolite, demanding tone what time we'd get there. Booking said reception was open from 15:00 to 20:30, but they insisted we arrive before 18:30 or we'd be unable to check in until after 22:00 because they had a basketball game to attend. We rushed over at 18:00 and had to change our holiday plans for that afternoon, while we were still enjoying a visit to a town 100 km away. At check-in, nobody smiled. They acted as if we should be grateful to get the orange room, then asked for more money than the price on the booking site. We had booked for two adults and our five-year-old, choosing the separate-bed option. They said the normal rate was 50€ a night and complained about the extra discount from the broker. The father and son, who owns the place, said they'd put a baby bed in the room because the sofa bed was an extra. But we'd booked a double bed and a single adult bed. How could a baby bed that wasn't in the room count as a bed that was provided, with presumably the same amount of sheets? After five minutes of refusing, we finally got the key from the owner, who had a strange attitude that made it seem we should be thankful. At other hotels, the receptionist is the one who is thankful. They can be proud, but I'd never experienced anything like this, even in less hospitable countries. Twice they asked us to leave, and I'll file a formal complaint with the authorities and the broker. One of them also took the room keys, which turned off the electricity. The father shouted that they'd call the police, and we said we wanted them to. He then shouted in Italian and broken English like a crazy man, treating us as if we were criminals. We asked to pay in advance. After we paid, they both kept raising their voices. There were no insults, but their body language was quite aggressive. My wife reminded the father that our five-year-old was there. I was relieved when he calmed down. Still angry, they returned the keys and went to their basketball match, leaving us flabbergasted. Yes, for a match. Breakfast was another disappointment. The coffee was lousy, all the pastries had cream, the juices and fruit yoghurts were industrial, and the toast was prepacked with only Nutella and jam. We had to ask several times each time for cold milk for the cornflakes. There was fresh fruit, though. I think a place like this should be closed until someone teaches those two basic professionalism toward tourists. No, you don't have to like everyone. Thanks for reading. Marco was really nice and helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. The rooms were big and clean, in a quiet area close to the center of lecce. They also have free bikes, wifi, and smart tv. Hope to come back next summer. Grazie !!!!

We found it easy to park for free on the street, and the center is close by. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the price was good. A very nice place, highly recommend!

The rooms were great, and they had balconies.
