The place itself was central, clean, and neat. The breakfast arrangement was a bit of a disaster, though. You have to go to a café in the square, where they deduct €3.50 per person from the bill, even though you'd already paid €5 per person in advance for it. That's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars.

The room was dark and the floor was dirty. The balcony couldn't be used because it was covered in bird droppings, and the bedspread was stained until the owner eventually changed it. The front light bulb was burned out, the baseboard was nearly detached, and the boiler beside the bed kept making noise. The fridge was empty and switched off. I booked on the day I arrived, and the owner called to say there were problems with Booking.com, offering a room at the same price in a B&B he said was better. It wasn't. In the end, they offered to cancel the cancellation in the app so we could at least get breakfast.
The location was central and handy for seeing the city, and the room was clean. But we had booked for three and found only a double bed, so we had to supply the extra bed's sheets ourselves. The welcome was basic, and the Wi-Fi didn't work very well.
We woke up this morning to loud opera music coming from nearby homes, quite characteristic. Our room was lovely, with a little balcony onto a narrow street in the historic center. Basilica of Santa Croce, Piazza Sant'Oronzo, and Via Vittorio Emanuele are all very close.
