Villa Rocca Leivi

Stefania and Getto made our stay at Villa Rocca special. They were friendly and supportive, found solutions for our needs, and went out of their way to help. We’re grateful for their hospitality and friendship, and hope to return soon to explore more of Liguria. The generous, very pleasant breakfast was served on the terrace, where we could enjoy the quiet of the Leivi mountains and the view. Our room was large, bright, clean, and well equipped, with a comfortable bed. We didn’t need the TV, though there is one, because three windows looked out onto the remarkable scenery. The experience appealed to all the senses: fresh air, aromatic herbs, and the harmonious church bells from the surrounding hills during the day at a pleasant volume. The sea and mountains were breathtaking. It’s hard to imagine a better place for our summer visits to Cinque Terre and the Portofino area. If you’re not keen on walking like we are, I’d suggest arriving by car or renting one. We came without a car and had a great time walking downhill and through Chiavari. Stefania offered to arrange a rental and even negotiate a good price, but we were happy getting around on foot.
