Albergo Ristorante Lavedo

For a 2 star hotel, it surprised us that they made the beds every day. The rooms were clean, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and anything that ran out was replenished quickly. Really good value for money. Highly recommend!

The host didn’t seem welcoming or smile much, and breakfast didn’t have enough food for everyone. The shower was much too small. On the plus side, the price felt fair for what you get, and the homemade food was good, though portions were small. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the lake, but there’s no lake view. Buses stop nearby, and ferries can take you towards Como centre or Bellagio. If you’re taking the bus, check the displays at the stop because Google Maps times aren’t right.

I stopped for a beer during my Greenway del lago walkabout, around 6 PM. The view isn’t much, but it was fun watching the locals interact. A 0.66 liter bottle cost Euro 4, about half what I’d expect elsewhere. Staff were friendly. I didn’t eat.

It’s a local place mainly used by workers and pub guests, so don’t expect anything posh. The food was very good, though we waited quite a while, and there were smokers around. The waitress looked really distressed. We visited the restaurant and found it neither great nor terrible.
