Hotel Cristallo

My room was very clean, and they had reserved the promised ocean view and large double bed. The staff were friendly until breakfast, when one of the women serving was rude and wouldn't even try to understand English. Italians had breakfast brought to their tables, while everyone else had to carry it themselves. There should also have been a sign at the buffet saying fried eggs and omelets were available. It's a shame, because I would have returned. Breakfast with Sara left me feeling unwelcome.

We stayed with our family for 10 nights and found the rooms clean and comfortable. The staff were professional and very helpful, and the parking service was great. Breakfasts had a lovely selection of fruit and pastries. It's a great spot between Lerici and marvelous Tellaro.

The hotel is nice, the staff are good, and the location is great. But we couldn't sleep. A house up the hill has a dog that barks day and night, every day. A staff member told me it belongs to the hotel owner, and that the owner doesn't care about it, which is why it keeps barking all night. It woke us every night.

Some people might find the place a bit dated, but the rooms are large and spacious, the service is superb, and the setting is breathtaking. The price, location, and service were all fantastic for us. The receptionists were lovely and helpful, the charming housekeeper greeted us each morning and tidied the room while we had breakfast, and the breakfast team were friendly and professional too. Everyone spoke great English. The local bus stops right outside, taking you to Tellaro if you don't fancy the 10-minute walk, which is worth doing, or to Lerici for bars and more restaurants.
