We booked through secret scapes for six days and were traveling with our 2-year-old. Both the hotel and the site knew about the baby because we’d emailed about a cot. The place wasn’t suitable for a small child, but that wasn’t our fault. They told us to leave because the baby might damage something, and we didn’t get our money back from them. Secret scapes returned only part of it, less than 35%. The owners offered no real solution beyond telling us to push secret scapes to cover the whole amount. They were extremely rude, aggressive, and pretentious, showing off about spending fifty thousand euros on one piece of furniture and designer items that obviously weren’t there. The man also smelled strongly of alcohol when he spoke to us. Even aside from that, the place isn’t worth it. You’re living right above the owners; they can access the two host rooms, and you can hear them talking and the dog barking. The photos and website description are totally misleading compared with what it’s actually like. I really don’t understand the high ratings, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

It was a real disappointment for me and my girlfriend, and I don’t think it’s worth the money. The rooms they rent are different from the ones shown in the pictures, and the place is really small. The views in the images aren’t from the guests’ rooms. The managers came across as arrogant and uneducated, and the whole thing felt far from professional. I’d advise against going.

I’m already hoping to return as soon as I can get a few days off. It’s a magical place in a dream setting. The two owners welcomed us warmly, along with their adorable dog, Aron. The property is cared for down to every detail, and our room had an almost magical feel. The view is so beautiful that no photo I’ve seen captures it. Definitely worth another visit.

At Velamica Resort, I stayed in a lovely natural setting and took a fantastic boat trip to the Cinque Terre. The owners were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to see nearby. The rooms were carefully furnished and spotlessly clean, and breakfast was impeccable. I also loved the large terrace, with its views of the sea and the Gulf of Poets, and the unforgettable sunsets.
