Venus House

We had a very pleasant four-night stay. The reception staff were professional, cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the air conditioning actually worked as it should. There's a garage service for a fee, which is useful with the parking chaos all along the coast. Breakfast offered enough variety for four or five days, though it could get boring on a longer stay. Thankfully, the coffee was made properly and served to you, not from a cheap machine. The one area to improve is housekeeping's respect for privacy: cleaners knocked even when the privacy setting or “do not disturb” sign was on, then sometimes came in right after knocking.

We used Hotel Florida as our base in Liguria, and it gave us easy access to everything we wanted to see while keeping us comfortable. The setting, warm service, and overall charm made it one of our best experiences in Italy. The hotel is right on the waterfront, with sweeping sea views each morning. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable, and quiet, and the staff were welcoming and happy to advise us on exploring Lerici and nearby towns. The historic centre, with its cafes, shops, restaurants, local seafood, and Ligurian specialties, is a short walk away. The ferry dock is close too, so day trips to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre were simple. Even staying at the hotel, the rooftop bar and terraces have hard-to-match views. My wife, our adult daughter, and I had a fantastic stay from the moment we arrived.

We only stayed two nights, but I would have happily stayed longer. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Ask Michelle for food recommendations, she has lots of good ones. Our room was beautiful, with a side view of the sea and a new, very clean bathroom. The breakfast was really nice and had everything you'd expect. In the evening, the rooftop bar is a lovely place for aperitivo. The hotel sits between Lerici and San Terenzo, and you can walk to either village in 10-15 minutes. The beach in front of the hotel was the best for us, with the open ocean view that's definitely missing from Lerici. I recommended the hotel to all my family and friends.

You can watch the sea from bed or from your balcony, and our room had everything we needed, all in perfect working order. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the hotel sits in a gorgeous location. Breakfast was superb, which is quite rare in Italy, with yummy mini savoury croissants, guacamole, and Parmesan that you cut straight from the block. Absolutely brilliant stay, and I'll be back!
