The location is very nice, but aside from that it was well below average. The rooms were average at best. When we were there as a school group, the food was absolutely horrendous and we were served in the basement. One night we got raw sausage, and another meal was undercooked, cold, jelly-like fish with the stump of an iceberg lettuce.

The hotel is on the main square, with bars and restaurants nearby, and only a few metres from the sandy beach. From the window after a quiet night, the sunrise over the sea was amazing. The villa is beautifully situated and has a lovely sea view. Our room was large and clean, the bathroom was clean too, and the bed was more comfortable than any I’d found in a hotel for a long time. Breakfast was plentiful and very good, and the people running the hotel were helpful and kind. The price was much friendlier than nearby Taormina, just a few minutes away by car. You can park in the street or in the hotel’s lockable car park. They also speak English, which isn’t common in Italian hotels.
