Good value, with a great location, clean room, friendly staff, and free private parking, which was awesome. Breakfast was mediocre, though. There was a big selection of cakes but no paninis or Italian cornetti. I’d rather have better quality and fresh cornetti instead of seven kinds of cake. They also used plastic cups for morning juice instead of regular glasses, which creates too much waste. With all the environmental pollution, that was the worst part.

The room and bathroom were both clean, comfortable, and in good shape, with working AC and plenty of space in the bathroom. Getting around was easy too, since the hotel sits roughly between the station and the center of town. Levanto is larger than any of the five towns, so there are more places to eat. The standout for me was breakfast: easily the best I’ve had at a B&B of this kind, with loads of food and drink choices. Staff helped us find a table and whatever else we needed, and the manager or owner patiently explained things and gave us train and ferry timetables when we asked. I’d happily stay again.

We found the rooms clean and snug, and breakfast had plenty to pick from. Both the sea and the train station are about a 5-10 minute walk away. There wasn’t a space for us in the hotel’s private parking lot, but they gave us a permit for free parking in town instead. The only real drawback was the rate, which felt a bit high for one night.

The last night left us feeling really uncomfortable. We came back to a very hot room after the AC had been switched off during a heat wave, and our bags had been unzipped, with belongings pulled out and moved around. Housekeeping had even taken out my dirty underwear. The front desk suggested they might have been “just cleaning,” but didn’t seem very sympathetic. Thankfully, our cash was in the safe and the more valuable things were with us; nothing appeared to be missing. We also felt watched and pointed at in the breakfast room. I don’t know what was going on, but it was unsettling and made us feel singled out. In more than 20 years of travel, I’ve never had an experience like this. Please be careful and consider staying somewhere else. We booked here only because it was one of just two places left for a last-minute trip.

The host was warm, kind, and full of useful suggestions. We also appreciated having free parking. It’s an easy walk to the town center, beach, and station, and the spot itself was quiet. Our room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was a simple buffet, but a good one.
